Fashion Friday! Meli' Melo'- Hot London Bag Designer

I was looking online at a friend from London's Facebook page, and I saw a picture of the Meli' Melo' Guia bag, and I instantly fell in love. We don't know a lot about Meli' Melo' here in the States, but these handbag designs by Italian-Brit Melissa Del Bono are hot on the streets of London with the young and fashionable. The Meli' Melo Bon-Bon bag was a UK craze that started in 2007, with British starlets and actresses like Sienna Miller owning a bag. The Bon-Bon is still hot today, with British stylistas now sporting the fringed-suede monogrammed version this Fall and Winter (see pic). Unfortunately, Meli'-Melo' bags are hard to find stateside and are only available online through the Meli' Melo' website , My Wardrobe.Com. or Ly.St.Com . These stylish bags are not cheap, running around $200-$500 in U.S. dollars (depending how lucky you are in your internet search!). I also found a smaller version of the Guia and Bon-Bon bags available through Harrod's online . Yes, the Baby Guia and Bon-Bon bags are designed with little girls in mind (can you imagine?) but they are less than half the price of the originals and are half the size, which makes them the perfect size for a night out. The purple Baby Guia is adorable, and is currently on my wish list for Spring.  If the original Bon-Bon bag is more your style, the original and fringed-suede versions are available at http://www.ly.st.com./ (The fringed-suede Bon-Bon bags are currently sold out on this site, but should be available again soon).

Keep your eyes out for Meli' Melo' bags. I am guessing they will be making their way to the fashionable streets of the U.S. any day now. I certainly hope so. When they do, hopefully I will be able to find a cheaper Guia or Bon-Bon bag on Ebay...Well, a girl can dream!

Happy Fashion Friday!
